Who is a Provisional Taxpayer
Any person who receives income other than a salary is a provisional tax payer. If you earn a salary and do not have other sources of income you are a non-provisional tax payer. You are still a non-provisional tax payer if:
- If you under 65 years, earn a salary and receive interests of less than R23 800 per year.
- If you over 65 years, earn a salary and receive interests of less than R34 500 per year.
- You have income in a tax free savings account.
